New Line Cinema, the studio where the trilogies ‘Lord of the Rings’ were made in, and Warner Bros. Animation have planned to make ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ Anime.
The feature depicts a bloody war behind a fortress called Helm’s Deep. The fortress has its name from Helm Hammerhand, a legendary king who has been involved in a prolonged war all his life.
Kenji Kamiyama, the director of ‘Ultraman’ anime series, will direct ‘Lord of the Rings’ anime based on a screenplay co-written by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews.
According to Variety “That project is set in the Second Age of Middle Earth, millennia before the events of the feature films; Helm Hammerhand’s reign, by contrast, unfolded roughly 260 years before the “LOTR” movies”.
